Find Your MoveVale Fit
Size Guide
A better fit starts with the right information. Use this guide to measure yourself, understand common performance fits and choose the size that best matches the way you want your MoveVale apparel to feel.
Start With Fit
Three Steps to a Better Size Choice
Performance apparel can fit differently depending on the garment, stretch, construction and intended use. Start with your measurements, then consider the fit you prefer.
Measure Your Body
Use a flexible measuring tape and measure close to the body without pulling the tape excessively tight.
Consider the Intended Fit
Compression, slim, regular and relaxed garments are designed to feel different even when the labeled size is the same.
Check the Product Details
When product-specific sizing or fit information is available, use it as the most relevant reference for that particular item.
How to Measure
Measure Close to the Body
For the most useful result, stand naturally and measure over light clothing or directly against the body. Keep the tape level and comfortably fitted rather than pulled tight.
- Chest / Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest or bust while keeping the tape level across your back.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, usually the narrowest point of your torso.
- Hips: Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the inside leg down toward the ankle or preferred pant length.
Measurement Points
What Each Measurement Tells You
Different measurements become more important depending on whether you are choosing a top, sports bra, legging, short, jogger or performance pant.
Chest / Bust
Especially useful when choosing Performance T-Shirts, Training Tops, Performance Tops, Sports Bras, Hoodies and upper-body layers.
Waist
Important for Training Shorts, Joggers, Performance Pants, Leggings & Tights and other fitted bottoms.
Hips
Useful for leggings, tights, shorts, joggers and fitted performance bottoms where shape through the hip matters.
Inseam
Helps evaluate the expected length of Performance Pants, Joggers & Pants, Leggings and similar full-length bottoms.
Understand the Fit
Compression to Relaxed
Two garments in the same labeled size can feel very different because they are designed for different levels of closeness and movement.
Category Guidance
Choose According to How the Product Moves
The right size decision can depend on what the garment is designed to do. Use these category-specific considerations alongside the individual product information.
T-Shirts & Training Tops
Focus primarily on chest or bust fit, shoulder comfort and the amount of room you prefer through the torso.
Sports Bras
A sports bra should feel secure and supportive without creating painful pressure. Product-specific sizing information is especially important for this category.
Leggings & Tights
Waist and hip measurements are usually the strongest starting points. Consider whether the item is designed for compression or a softer stretch fit.
Joggers & Performance Pants
Consider waist, hip and inseam together, along with whether the silhouette is tapered, regular or relaxed.
Compression Wear
Compression pieces are intentionally close-fitting. Avoid automatically sizing up simply because the garment feels closer than regular activewear.
Weather-Ready Layers
Consider what you may wear underneath. If the product is intended as an outer layer, additional room may be useful depending on your layering preference.
Between Two Sizes?
Let Your Preferred Fit Guide the Decision
If your measurements or preferences place you between two options, think about how you want the garment to feel during movement.
Product-Specific Sizing
The Individual Product Comes First
MoveVale carries multiple types of performance apparel, and construction can differ from one product to another. When a product page provides its own fit notes, dimensions or sizing information, use those details as the primary reference for that item.
Look for details describing compression, stretch, silhouette, rise, length, layering or intended fit.
A size in one performance style may feel different from the same labeled size in another construction or category.
Use your body measurements together with the way you personally prefer athletic clothing to fit during movement.
A Quick Fit Check
Move Before You Decide
When trying on performance apparel, evaluate more than how it looks while standing still. The garment should work through the movements you expect to perform.
- Raise your arms: Check whether tops remain comfortable through the shoulders, chest and torso.
- Bend and squat: Check whether bottoms remain secure and allow comfortable movement.
- Walk or move: Notice unnecessary restriction, slipping, bunching or excess fabric.
- Consider your routine: A garment for compression training may feel intentionally different from an everyday performance layer.
